Some time ago a photo was offered on Ebay from the unveiling of a John D. Slavin's portrait of actor John Barrymore. Besides the noted Barrymore portrait, Slavin also painted a portrait of President Harry S. Truman, portraits of several Virginia governors, and other works. The news photo features William M. Tuck, governor from 1946-1950, second from the left. Third from the left is Slavin, who autographed the photo above his image, and actress Tallulah Bankhead. The man on the left is unidentified. Many thanks to the photo's purchaser, Ken Baker, for donating a scan of the photo to the site, and to Slavin's granddaughter Lynne Walter for additional information about the photo.
